Starting in 2004 and having grown fast, our training program is an intensive two-day, hands-on program that typically includes 2 - 4 people per class. Installation techniques are taught on a roof deck in the warehouse, or on an actual job site, typically in conjunction with a local roofing distribution company.

Metal Roofing is the fastest growing roofing product in the industry. It’s popularity and demand have increased so much in the last 10 years there is a shortage of good, qualified Stone Coated Steel Roofing installers to meet consumer needs.

Gerard’s extensive hands on contractor training program covers just about every roof condition you can expect to encounter as an installer for the residential re-roofing and new roofing market.

Our course will begin with an introduction of Gerard Stone Coated Steel Roofing Materials, a brief session on theory of roof installation followed by a day and a half of hands on field training. Our training session called “Estimating Parts and Pieces” will also be available for those registrants interested.

Your instructor will walk you through the methods involved in roofing over asphalt and cedar shakes while teaching the installation methods required when roofing hips, valleys, Dutch gables, ridge/rake details and complex areas of installation such as zippers. Registrants need to bring basic hand tools including, hammer, measuring tape, snips, nail puller, caulk line, inexpensive Phillips screwdriver, gloves and be sure to wear soft soled shoes.
